Udm.wad has some of the best multiplayer. rage.wad came bundled with some versions of WadEd. I always loved it. Nice mix of space base and wood, just feels like classic doom in a way few wads do. It might be a bit recent, but Firetop Mountain is one of the most well designed maps I've ever played. Real DM .Ancient Aliens, Valiant, Eviternity, Auger Zenith are some of my favorites that don't get too bad difficulty-wise, though they can get quite challenging in places. I think I found Going Down harder than those at its hardest, but that's subjective of course.
