Deadly accurate 22 250 handloads
So, I decided to try 8208 XBR with the 53 gr. V-Max bullets. I couldn't find any load data for the 53 gr. V-Max in the .22-250 so I used the load data for the 52 gr. A-Max and started well below the max and worked up. Here's the target from the tests I did a couple days ago using 35.3 gr. of 8208 XBR.Bozeman, MT. Mar 11, 2012. #4. I've had good to great results with the 50 grain Nosler ballistic tips using imr 4895 and benchmark. I use h-380 and varget and can load to max velocity and still get less then 1/2 inch groups with my 700 Remington with a bull/ Varmint barrel. No matter how accurate they are. In most cases dropping down a bit in pressure gives better accuracy. There is too many things to go wrong at these max pressures. All that is required to convert an existing AR-15 to .22 Nosler is a new barrel and switching to 6.8 SPC magazines. It feeds best from 6.8 SPC magazines because its body is fatter than that of the 5.56/.223. The new cartridge's body tapers from 0.420 at its broadest point just ahead of the rim to 0.400 at the body-shoulder transition.RL-17 has been the fastest and the most accurate, by a wide margin, regardless of bullet weight.
