Ok, the vtm-4 light comes on when there is a fault in the 4wd system that automatically transfers power/torque to the rear wheels under lower traction conditions such as mud, snow, puddles, gravel roads. The VSA, vehicle stability assist, is disabled when there is a fault in the vtm-4 system by the ECM.VTM-4 is variable torque management tho so related to traction control or torque vectoring AWD if they had it back then. I doubt misfires would cause TC/AWD issues. It might be a programming in the computer that disables it. Just the VTM-4 light, and only on the 'initial' start up.
