Illustrator guides not showing
Create guides. If the rulers aren’t showing, choose View > Show Rulers. Position the pointer on the left ruler for a vertical guide or on the top ruler for a horizontal guide. Drag the guide into position. To convert vector objects to guides, select them and choose View > Guides > Make Guides. Note:Solved: Hi, I'm on Illustrator CC 22.0.1. Show/Hide Edges (ctrl+H) did the trick for me. Toggling the Real Time Drawing setting on and off did not prevent the guides from vanishing, neither did switching from Previewing on CPU or GPU. This worked for me as well. My guide would disappear when I tried to align it to a path or anchor point.In my CS6 x64, when using the pen tool for adding points, the smart guides don't show. However, if you add a point, then use the direct selection arrow tool to move the point, THEN you get the smart guides. You can show and hide Illustrator guides in Illustrator and you can show and hide InDesign guides in InDesign, but you will not be able to control Illustrator guides when viewing a placed Illustrator file in InDesign. If you really need to see them, return to IL, make sure the guides are unlocked and choose View>Guides>Release Guides.I then select both guides with a simple bounding box, selecting them and altering the color to a dark blue rather than the (unselected) teal color. Check your layers using F7 and see if any of these guides are placed on locked layer. If guide options show unlocked, you're probably looking at another layer. A locked layer will lock any guides placed on that specific layer. Not being able to select these guides is another indication they are probably trapped inside a locked layer.
