Ford focus no key detected
1.) Replaced original Motorcraft battery with brand new Interstate 96R (w/590 CCA). Work to remove and reinstall battery performed “gently” as not to disturb BMI and installed fuses. 2.) After replacement and everything buttoned up, I now get the dreaded “Ford KeyFree No Key Detected” message. 3.)The problem is not in the key and lock tumblers but in the housing that it fits into (part # 9L8Z-3511-A) for a ford escape or a mercury mariner. I think the ford focus is the same number but double check with parts for compatability. Mine is at the point where even pushing in hard when turning key is only working intermittently.

Posted July 9, 2020. From memory, depending on model, try pressing the stop/start button 8 times. It should go beep and then press any button on the key fob within 5-10 seconds. I know that works on some Ford cars but can't remember which, and I think newer models need a OBD reader and Forscan to do the programming.Foci 2014se not push button. About 25% of the time after I get gas I will insert my key turn it and nothing happens. I'll try it a few times not sure what "fixes" it but I'll try like turning off all the lights or taking the key out and re insert or opening and closing the door again. Ect. After about 5 tries it'll start like normal.
The RKE module, Remote Key Entry looks after the locking/unlocking and keyless ignition.
