Thank you oilhammer! That's the most honest synopsis of TDI ownership I've ever read in this forum. I've said for years that buying a TDI does little more than get you to pre-pay your fuel for a few years. Take 2.0 litre Jetta TDI and 2.0 litre Jetta gas, same trim and according to VW Canada web site, the premium is $5000.Since the keys are different from the original ECU the immobilizer light blinks. I would need to have the cluster paired to the swapped ECU to solve that flashing light but it doesn't bother me enough to go thru the effort/cost.
