Last night on my way home from work at 3:00am my bike suddenly died while running down the highway at 70mph ( per the spedo, actual speed of 62mph per radar) (don't ask how I know this) acted like it ran out of gas. Tank is 3/4 full or better, weather conditions where, light fog, heavy dew, 68 degrees.Remove your brake reservoir cover and suck out the old fluid. Empty the syringe. Fill with new fluid and just lay the cover back on. Don’t install the screws. Install the hose on the clutch bleeder valve and on the syringe. Open the bleeder valve a turn and a half and draw back on the syringe.I had a similar problem that turned out to be the key switch. The bike started cutting off at first and eventually a set of contacts in the switch got so bad that it would not crank. ... I have a 2003 1500 carb.. and a 2008 1600 FI. although the carb one is OK..I like the FI one better. it seems smoother and warms up a lot faster. When the bike is running put your hand down where they bolt up to the heads and if you feel any air, you have found your problem. Neither of those will get it to turn over.Congratulations on your new ride. If the oil light is flashing, first thing check the oil. When was the last time it was changed and what weight was used. Have to check the bikes for any fault codes that might have been stored. If you bought the bike from a dealer, take it back and have them fix it.
