Breeding betta splendens, not ethical. The genetics of betta splendens is fucked up as it is and you have to be careful with what you work with. Such as dragon scales and too heavy of a metallic layer will result if A LOT of tumors. Or long finned bettas making even longer fins. Now that was just genetics wise.

Turned my bedroom into a fish room. Tanks are pretty quite, I'm able to watch the fish from my bed before I turn their lights off to go to sleep. 3 tanks, betta tank, subtropical tank, and tropical tank. Gonna put in a pea puffer tank soon too. Snail infestation. My worst nightmare came true, I have a blooming infestation of rams horn snails in my betta tank (clown pleco also in the tank). I've heard of traps (cucumber and squash), assassin snails, and a complete tank restart (hydrogen peroxide bath for the plants).
So she's in a community tank with 4 kuhli loaches, 4 other female bettas, 8 danios and two Gouramis. I try to feed sparingly but with so many fish some of them gobble it all up faster than others. Will my bettas be ok for now? So I've tested my gh and kh. Gh in two of the tanks is 10 and 8 in the other one. The kh is at 5 in all of them. I don't think the gh is ideal, but I'm not able to get RO water at the moment due to money and no place to store big jugs of water.
