Hoyt bows vs mathews. Things To Know About Hoyt bows vs mathews.

Typical of a Mathews is 0.5" longer than what the mod says it is when you measure AMO while a Hoyt is typically only about 0.25" longer. Because of this I always tell people to shoot what feels comfortable and not any specific number. I say the same thing in regards to draw weight. 3. Reply.Honestly gotta shoot them both one will just feel better to you. If you can’t shoot both based on the specs the Mathews is a shorter ata at 34ish and the Hoyt is 36ish. The Hoyt in theory should be more forgiving because it is longer. The Mathews will be lighter and slightly faster shooting. The cam feel you have to pull to feel it.Affordable Bows vs. Flagship Bows. ... Best Compound Bow for the Money Hoyt Torrex & Torrex XT. First, all 4 bows came in out of spec. Draw weight was pretty high (77# on one!) so I brought them back in spec before shooting. These comments go for the Alpha X as well. As usual not much difference except weight. These bows were right on the money as to draw length once put in spec.Built around their hand-laid carbon riser, the RX-8 is not only buttery smooth, which has been Hoyt's trademark for decades now, but it's also the quietest bow they have ever developed. Hoyt's Carbon RX-7 - Tested! I get hyped about new bows, but it was hard for me to believe that I could love a bow — shoot a bow better — than Hoyt's 2021 Carbon RX-5. In fact for me the Mathews 33 is better than the Hoyt 33 at my DL. They set the Hoyt 33 and the Mathews 33 up at 29 DL so I could have an apples to apples comparison. I will say the Hoyt's DL felt short on both the 30 and 33 in comparison to the Mathews. I was surprised that the longer ata Hoyt draw cycle wasnt as linear as the 30.

Currently, the lightest bow in the market is a Hoyt bow. The Hoyt Fireshot is the lightest bow with a weight of only three pounds. It's a hybrid target shooting and hunting compound bow. It is only followed by the Mathews Stoke which weighs 3.78 pounds which is only a half quarter heavier than the Hoyt Fireshot.Brought my Bowtech Carbon One to compare draw/vibration/speed. All bows where put on draw board and timed, draw weight was taken and draw length was measured. Three bows I shot were Mathews lift 29.5, Hoyt Alpha X 30, Hoyt RX-8 30 inch. Grip. As far as grips go, the Mathews Z3 has a rubber grip while the Hoyt Powermax has a molded plastic one. Even so that both of these are mid-level compound bows, a rubber grip speaks more about the quality of the bow. It would have been a nice touch if the Powermax had stock rubber grips. The VTM34 draws slightly smoother, and the Hoyt has a better factory grip IMO. If you have been a Hoyt guy for a long time you will transition into the VTM easier. I do like the low riser stab mount option on the Hoyts. Both companies make outstanding accessories, although Mathews pricing is stupid. The Hoyt Bourbon is bow color of the year imo.

The mass weight difference was surprising, and the Lift seemed a bit less top heavy than the Phase 4. Very nice bow. phatkaw.

The Hoyt grip isn’t bad but for the price feels cheesy to me. I bought the V3 without shooting it wanting to try the shortest ATA on the market. It’s a really nice bow, but the Hoyt is a better bow IMHO. Also, I’m 6’1” and the string angle on the Mathews was a challenge (as expected). Good luck!

Both companies are very proud of the bows they make. Hoyt produces compound and recurve bows while Mathews only produces compound bows. If we compare the compound bows; the featured differences are Hoyt has split limbs and hybrid cams; Mathews has solid limbs and a solo cam. The cam systemis the biggest difference.
