I installed a Pertronix ignition in my Farmall H.At first it didnt run either,just started and died ,It ran good with points.I called Pertronix and they told me that i needed High Surpression ignition wires to run with my new coil and pertronix ignition kit. $80 later for new ignition wires and my tractor now starts easy and runs great!
