There is plenty of WWI footage. CBS paid for the digitization of many reels of WWI-era National Archives footage as part of their background research into a documentary about the era. Most of the footage went unused, but it was nonetheless digitized and I have a lot of it. There is DEFINITELY "enemy visible" combat and there is PLENTY from WWII.
